On August 21, 2015 5PM right after the 29th Annual Membership Meeting of the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, we’ll be having the soft launch of Ang Mamatay ng Dahil Sa ‘Yo: Heroes and martyrs of the Filipino people in the struggle against dictatorship Vol. 1, a book project in cooperation with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

On February 25, friends and families of our heroes and martyrs whose birthdates fall within the first quarter (January to March) of the year will share stories of their lives. Let the sacrifices, heroism, love of fellowmen and country by these outstanding people inspire us in meeting the challenges that continue to be present in our nation.
This year’s honorees were labor leaders Felixberto Olalia Sr., Rolando Olalia and Crispin Beltran; human rights worker Sr. Violeta Marcos; “Daet martyrs” Elmer Lagarteja, Jose E. Alcantara (killed at 40), Benjamen Suyat (killed at 47) and Rogelio Guevarra (killed at 45); Jorge Checa, Ceasar Gavanzo Jr., Venerando Villacillo and Julieto Mahinay.
